Bio: Why is Scott “The Leadership Therapist?”
Scott, known as the Leadership Therapist for his unique background, presents practical wisdom gleaned from his own diverse professional portfolio:
- from serving as award-winning family crisis intervention therapist for at-risk families,
- to highly-regarded executive chief-of-staff for a well-known, multi-billion-dollar healthcare organization.
As an executive leader, Scott guided 13,000+ employees through extensive changes and mergers, and solved complex issues that converted a dismal attrition rate of 38% to a phenomenal 6.5%, while drastically improving customer loyalty scores and saving millions of dollars. He served as executive director of strategic communications and change management and eventually chief-of-staff of a multi-billion dollar healthcare organization.
Prior to that, as a crisis counselor, Scott learned how to listen authentically and think on his feet while implementing life-changing solutions. His unique approach resulted in a Family Therapist of the Year award for the State of Michigan.
Today as The Leadership Therapist, Scott is an award-winning international speaker, author, and organizational consultant. Scott has spoken for international conferences and worked for such esteemed groups as AT&T Global, Wal-Mart, Carolinas Healthcare System, The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and the U.S. federal government. Scott’s presentation style is energetic, story-and-research based, humorous, and highly practical. He is the author of several books on leadership including Manager’s Guide to Employee Engagement. Scott also serves as CEO of Spiritus Communications.
