Relationships form when people are willing to be vulnerable and lower their guards enough to share of themselves.
But relationships can become one-sided if one party relies too much on the word, “I”.
People want to know you’re listening the them and care about them. The best way to do that is to ask questions of others and to get them to be the ones to share more and open up.
Count how many times you’re tempted to bring a conversation back to yourself by saying “I”. Catch yourself. And find a way to get the other person talking.
